What is BPM used for?

BPM (beats per minute) measures a song's tempo — DJs use it to beatmatch tracks, musicians use it to set metronomes, and video editors use it to sync cuts to the beat.

How accurate is manual tap tempo?

Accuracy improves with more consistent taps — averaging your last several taps smooths out small timing errors, typically landing within 1-2 BPM of the true tempo.

Why did it reset while I was tapping?

If you pause for more than about 2.5 seconds between taps, the tool assumes you're starting a new measurement and resets automatically.
